Inlays or onlays are chosen to rebuild teeth that are too broken down to be repaired with fillings, but not so bad as to require covering them with crowns. Inlays are similar to fillings, and fit inside of the tooth. The entire work lies within the cusps on the chewing surface of the tooth. Onlays are more extensive than inlays, covering more of the tooth’s outer surface. Onlays cover one or more cusps. We try to make these restorations indistinguishable from the natural tooth.
